The Muskingum County Center for Seniors (MCCFS) is the focal point for senior services and information in Muskingum County, Ohio. The Center is funded in part by The Area Agency on Aging – Region 9 (AAoA-9) in Byesville, Ohio and by a levy supported by the caring citizens of Muskingum County. Through Title III contracts awarded by AAoA-9 the Center is able to provide hot, nutritious home delivered meals to qualifying homebound citizens of our county. Title III contracts also help to support the congregate meal programs at the four satellite meal sites located at Sunrise Center, The Duncan Falls American Legion Post, The Maple Avenue Hi-Rise, and The James D. Singer in the Coopermill Manor. Additionally Title III contracts provide funding for a portion of the Transportation program. The MCCFS is a certified Passport provider for Home Delivered Meals. The Center offers a wide variety of activities, events and educational opportunities for the senior residents of and visitors to Muskingum County. Activities include dances and dance lessons, quilting, stamp art, and an ever-changing calendar of craft opportunities. The Center hosts a variety events during the year that include the Souper Bowl and the F.O.P. Senior Holiday Dinner. There are many educational opportunities available on topics that will help, inform and protect the seniors of Muskingum County.
